About Jorge

Author J.L. Acevedo

Jorge has been the senior pastor of Lake Washington Fellowship in Melbourne, Florida for twenty-eight years. He has a way of connecting with people in a way that’s real, light-hearted, and practical. His dynamic, relevant preaching style has led Jorge to encourage a broad range of audiences from indigenous people in a remote South American jungle, to students at school and college auditoriums, to mariners in cargo ships, to missionaries at a conference, to inmates in jail.

After being heckled one Sunday morning many years ago by a member of his church’s choir, Jorge decided to write a book about how to handle difficult people and circumstances in life. After 4 years of part-time writing, he named the book Hecklers In Your Choir, but a friend counseled him that the word ‘choir’ may restrict the prospective reading audience to just Christians. Thus, the book was renamed Hecklers In Your Crowd; because all of us have relatable stories in our lives where we might have been heckled one time or another. Or, presently, you may be dealing with those hecklers in your life, know, you are not alone!

“At one time or another, we all have to deal with difficult individuals and circumstances that threaten to disrupt and derail our lives from living an amazing life. Like hecklers, these people appear at times and in places you least expect. The purpose of this book is to provide the reader with powerful encouragement, relevant perspective, and specific steps to take to successfully silence such hecklers and help people in their pursuit of God and their dreams.” – Jorge Acevedo

Hecklers In Your Crowd mixes Bible characters, their stories, and the ageless wisdom of Scripture with today’s real-life stories that will encourage readers while providing tangible and inspiring ways to handle life’s obstacles in today’s world. To purchase “Hecklers In Your Crowd” click here.
