How To Stay Focused On What’s Best For You In Life

That’s my dog Bourbon zeroed in focused on my delicious loaded potato. I think dogs sometimes think they are humans so she took a seat and watched me eat (maybe trying to send a guilt trip my way).

Have you ever been so focused that nothing else seemed to matter?

We do that with a career sometimes. We will do anything to climb to the top and achieve what we think is going to make us happy. Our focus sometimes is on a certain dream project we want to accomplish. Maybe it’s a relationship that has you hooked and consuming your every thought and effort.

I read somewhere that Tommy Lasorda once said,

How To Live On The Edge Of Awesome Greatness (no regrets)

A few days ago a teenager challenged me to a game of chess. I had not played since I was a child but when the cocky teen guaranteed my complete annihilation, I couldn’t refuse.

In the picture above, my pieces are the frosted ones and his are the glassy looking ones. If you’re not familiar with chess much what’s happening here is that his horsey (Knight) had me in check-mate after 3 moves. Then the teen proudly said, “I wrecked you!” (whatever that means)

So You Failed…Now What? How To Quickly Overcome

So…I recently made a BIG BLUNDER! I won’t bore you with the details but trust me I felt like that egg in the picture. And, if you would have seen me, I probably looked that way as well.

Yes, you will experience many victories along the way but also defeat. Just like eggs have a tendency to easily crack so failure is par for our course. Continue reading

How To Remember The Best of Your Life

I spent much of the day yesterday putting together a transcript in Spanish for a message I am going to preach on Sunday. It was exhausting! You may say, “But aren’t you Spanish? Isn’t Spanish your native language?” The answer is “Yes” and “Yes.” I am fluent in both English and Spanish but I primarily use my second language a good 90% of the time. Continue reading

How to Stay Accurate And Reach Your Amazing Life Destiny

I love accuracy!

My friend recently posted a picture on Facebook of his paralleled parked car. It took skill, timing, and accuracy. He was so proud.

I am fascinated at baseball players being able to hit a small hard ball coming at them at 100 mph. Or, the accuracy of a soccer player kicking a ball while twisting in the air and it goes pass the goalie and into the net for a “GOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL” (as announcer Andres Cantor would call it)!

The thought of accuracy took me back to my childhood in Puerto Rico. Continue reading
